Los Angeles Soup - October 21, 2015

A third helping of Soup comes to the Westside

Los Angeles Soup held a third dinner on October 21, 2015. We partnered with a previous winner, ROSIES Foundation and held the dinner at their Culver City headquarters. Thanks to Sonny's Soups for donating the delicious soup! They can be found at The Bagel Factory locations in West LA.

Los Angeles Soup is such a community effort and it is only made possible by our generous community partners. Thank you to everyone who came and contributed to the greatness that is Soup.

Projects that presented:

This is Home

It takes a village to make a home- supportive housing for vulnerable teens and young parents.

THIS IS HOME is an innovative, back-to-basics solution to housing instability among vulnerable teens and young moms. Our "host home" provides young women rent-free family housing as they finish high school, improve parenting skills, and create a happy and healthy future for themselves and their children.

Chicas Rockeras

Promotes healing, growth and confidence for girls through music education while building self esteem and encouraging group collaboration.

Chicas Rockeras South East Los Angeles is a rock camp for girls ages 8-17. In one week our campers learn an instrument, join a band, write an original song and participate in daily workshops. We are 100% volunteer operated.

Pulp Pantry

Deliciously super powered snacks, hand-made with intention! Good for you, good for Los Angeles, and good for our collective environment.

Nourish your body, mind and spirit while sustaining our Earth's valuable resources. Each of our delicious, healthy snacks gives a second life to organic vegetable and almond pulp. We're the ultimate feel good snack!

Big congrats to Chicas Rockeras for taking the big check home! This was their first grant ever and we are excited to come together as a community to support. Chicas Rockeras will have their next Rock Camp next summer so please stay connected if you want to help girls rock out!
